With 42 years of experience in port operation and management, Can Tho Port has consistently been a leading enterprise in the industry in the Mekong Delta region. Strategically located in Can Tho City, the center of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho Port is conveniently connected to maritime, inland waterway, and road transportation infrastructure, and is located approximately 1.5 km from Can Tho International Airport. The port serves a large economic region that is home to the country’s major agricultural, aquatic, and seafood production centers, as well as a major consumer market with a population of approximately 18 million people.
Can Tho Port is designated as a national general-purpose seaport and a Category I regional hub port of the Mekong Delta. It also serves as a key seaport for handling import and export vessel traffic and providing inland connectivity within Port Group No. 5.

Can Tho Port was established on the basis of taking over a military port formerly operated by Battalion 8B, Regiment 659, Military Region 9.

Can Tho Port became a state-owned enterprise under the Department of Transport of Can Tho Province (now Can Tho City).

Can Tho Port was transferred to the management of the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

Cai Cui Port was invested in and constructed

Phase 1 of Cai Cui Port was completed, and Cai Cui Port Company was established under the People’s Committee of Can Tho City.
